![]() ![]() ![]() The Line 6 BackTrack + Mic Portable Recorder - Insures that your licks, riffs and songs will always be captured. If doing it with UX2 is not possible, then I could connect the PA's output to my on-board sound card's line-in.B-Stock Line 6 BackTrack Portable Recorder With Mic Overview I just can record what is coming into instruments and mics inputs (in front of UX2). Now, when using line-in, how to configure UX2 to send the line-in to Reaper ? Is it at all possible ? Where is the line-in in UX2 ? I can play anything in PC (via USB I suppose) on which I could play myself, but it doesn't get involved in recording. Then, in Reaper, I set the guitar track input to send1+send2 and the vocal track to send3+send4. I send the first to send1+send2 (in stereo because UX2 can send one channel in two paths into two channels) and the second to send3+send4. I ask the question because, when using UX2 (and its ASIO driver), I have two input channels (instrument & mic). Saying it simply, how can I record in Reaper everything coming to the line-in ? There is also an option to record the live output to a new file and that will record everything going out the master in realtime. How can it be done ? Is it possible in this case to use my UX2 sound card or should I use the on-board card only ? It is as if I wanted to record (and digitize) say an LP connected to the PC's line-in with Reaper. ![]() Recording the live is exactly the same.īut even if not useful in my case, I'm curious to know how one can record in Reaper the sound coming from the PC's line-in (either on the on-board sound card or on the USB sound card) ? However, as I already have the backtracks, I just have to record the live tracks I do this usually when I record track after track. backtracks+live tracks) "out of the PA" and injected into the PC via its "line-in". But since I want to record what I play in live, I have to open Reaper, thus will play those backtracks in Reaper rather than as mp3 being imported to Reaper or played by some player.Īctually I wanted to record the resulting mix (i.e. Playing mp3 was useful if I didn't want to open Reaper at all. I have it in mp3 as well as in Reaper since I did those backtrack' tracks myself. I'm sorry because I think I was unnecessarily confused while the solution is simple. Do I have other options in order to be able to record on PC and in the same time use Reaper plugins to have a thicker vocals ? (I guess I have to record without Reaper using existing Windows soft or other softs) Obviously, in the above configuration I could not do that since Reaper is being used for recording the overall mix (backtrack+live guitar+live vocal). Usually to get a thicker vocal, I use a combination of compression&delay (ReaComp & ReaDelay)plugins on vocal track within Reaper. guitar & mic plugged to UX2 (guitar using POD modeling soft on PC), output to UX2 then output to PAĬan I use the unused on-board sound card for recording ? how ? backtrack(mp3) played on PC, output to UX2 then output to PA In short, following is my configuration when playing the backtrack: So I presume I can use Reaper now for recording.Īlso, in addition to my Line 6 UX2 USB sound card, I also have an on-board sound card that could be used for recording, while UX2 is used to play the backtrack. Please note that when playing the backtrack, I don't use anymore Reaper. ![]() How could I record with the same PC the resulting mix coming out of the PA ? Now, in order to play in live, I play a backtrack (drum/bass midi, guitar chords, etc.) previously recorded with Reaper, in my PC and sing and play guitar on it. I use Reaper to record and mix (guitar, vocal, drum/bass midi, etc.) using a Line 6 UX2 sound interface. ![]()
